Episode 3: When God Redirects Your Steps
Sometimes the hardest thing to do is let go of what was especially when you’ve poured your heart into it. But what if the detour is actually the divine direction you’ve been praying for?

In this week’s #LIVWord, Pastor Eric shares a personal story about leaving behind what was familiar in order to follow God into the unknown and how that step of faith opened the door to something greater.

“The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” – Proverbs 16:9

Watch Episode 3 now and be encouraged to trust the One who’s writing your next chapter.

Episode 4: Light of Hope
What keeps us going when we feel trapped in darkness? In this powerful episode, we hear the story of a man who survived being trapped in a cave for a week, his hope anchored by a single source of light.

Eric reminds us to fix our focus on what is good, pure, and true just like Philippians 4:8 encourages us. No matter how dark life feels, there is always a Light worth holding onto.

Watch now and be encouraged!

Episode 5: Facing Giants

David didn’t run from the giant, he ran toward him.
Why? Because he knew the battle didn’t depend on the size of Goliath…

It depended on the size of his God.
It doesn’t matter how big your challenge is.
It matters how big your God is.

Watch the full episode now and be encouraged to run boldly toward the battles in your life, because God goes before you.

Episode 6: The God Who Holds You Together

Ever felt like life was falling apart?
Colossians 1:17 reminds us: ‘He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.’

It’s not our grip on life that keeps us steady — it’s His. The same Jesus who holds the stars in place holds YOU. No matter how chaotic it feels, you’re not falling apart… you’re being held.

Watch Episode Six of LIV Word and be reminded that you can rest in the One who never lets go.

Episode 7: Stay in Step with the Spirit

“Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” — Galatians 5:25

Life with Jesus isn’t about rushing ahead or falling behind—it’s about staying in rhythm with the Holy Spirit. In this episode, Pastor Eric shares how lessons from swing dance and karate remind us of the beauty and strength that come when we walk in step with God’s Spirit.

Watch Episode 7 now and be encouraged to move with God’s timing this week.

Episode 8: Harmful vs. Harmless

Last week I went snorkeling in La Jolla, right next to 7 foot leopard sharks! They looked terrifying but were completely harmless. At the same time, I also saw rays that blended into the sand… and those can be dangerous.

In LIV Word Episode Eight, we talk about the difference between what only looks scary and what’s actually harmful and how God calls us to discernment in our walk with Him.

Watch now and be encouraged to see clearly, walk wisely, and Live in Victory.

Episode 9: “When Pain Points the Way”

Pain can push us away from God… or pull us closer.
In this episode, Pastor Eric shares about living with chronic pain and what Paul’s “thorn in the flesh” teaches us about grace in weakness.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
Watch now and be encouraged: when we are weak, HE is strong.

Episode 10: “The Impermanence of Stuff

We just had a garage sale this weekend… and wow. Twenty years of marriage means twenty years of stuff! As I watched people walk away with boxes of things we once thought were important, I was reminded of Jesus’ words: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth… But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:19–21)

In the end, stuff fades, but what we invest in God’s Kingdom lasts forever. #livword #livchurch #christianinspiration #dailydevotional #bibleteaching
Episode 11: “Hope in the Midst of Tragedy”

When tragedy and loss shake our lives, where can we find hope? Scripture reminds us that God is the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3–4).

If you’re walking through grief, you’re not alone. God’s presence brings peace, and His promises bring hope.

Episode 12: “From Tragedy to Triumph” Learning from Stephen’s Martyrdom

The assassination of Charlie Kirk reminds us of Stephen in Acts 7. Tragedy is real, but it is never the end.
Like Stephen, Charlie’s voice may be silenced on earth, but the truth of Christ continues to echo through His church.

In Acts 8, the church scattered, but instead of collapsing, the gospel spread further than ever. That’s how we respond: with faith, with courage, and with hope.

We grieve, but not as those without hope (1 Thess. 4:13).
We pray for our enemies, as Stephen did.
We keep the mission alive.

Join me in this week’s episode of LIV Word as we reflect on how to move forward from tragedy with bold faith.

Episode 13:Go to Church

There’s a stirring happening across our nation. In the wake of tragedy, hearts are turning back to God. People are realizing: life is too short to walk alone.

That’s why Scripture tells us: “Let us not give up meeting together, but encourage one another” (Hebrews 10:25).

At LIV Church, we believe church is more than a Sunday service—it’s family. While our public launch isn’t until Easter 2026, we’re already gathering:
LifeGroups in neighborhoods
Barbecues with friends
Bonfire + beach cleanup coming soon

This is where faith grows. This is where hope is renewed. This is where revival begins.

Don’t wait. Step in. Get connected
Go to church.

Episode 14: “Combating the Rise of Evil in Our Culture”

On October 7, the world witnessed horrific evil in the attack on Israel. Since then, we’ve seen a troubling rise in antisemitism on college campuses and in major cities around the world. But God’s Word reminds us:

“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” – Romans 12:21

Evil is real, but it does not win. As followers of Jesus, we are called to stand for truth, speak up for the oppressed, and let the light of Christ shine in the darkness.

Watch the full episode now and be encouraged to live boldly for Him.

Episode 15: “From Ashes to Light

Last weekend we cleaned the beach and lit a fire at Ventura Cove. That night reminded us of what God does in our lives:
He cleanses us from the debris of sin.
He ignites a fire that brings warmth and light.
He gathers us together to shine in a dark world.

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” – Psalm 51:10

Episode 16: “Christ is King” — but what does that really mean for our lives?

In LIV Word – Episode 16, Pastor Eric shares how recognizing Jesus as King changes the way we live, make decisions, and surrender control.

It’s not about giving Jesus a vote—it’s about giving Him the throne.
Watch now and be encouraged to lay your crown at His feet.

Episode 17: “The Battle Is Real

At the Renaissance Fair, I watched knights clash in armor and it reminded me of the real battle we face every day.
Not against people, but against darkness.

Every prayer, every act of love, every moment of faith that’s spiritual warfare. The battle is real… but so is the victory we have in Christ.

Ephesians 6:11
“Put on the full armor of God so you can take your stand.”

#LIVWord #LIVChurch #SpiritualWarfare #ArmorOfGod #LiveInVictory
Episode 18: “Born With Purpose”

This week we celebrated my wife’s birthday and my son’s 16th birthday at a trampoline park and it reminded me of something powerful:
Every birthday is proof that God designed us on purpose, for a purpose.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.” – Jeremiah 1:5
No one is here by accident. You’re fearfully and wonderfully made.

#LIVWord #LIVChurch #BornWithPurpose #Jeremiah15 #LiveInVictory #Faith #Purpose #Inspiration
Episode 19: “Greater Love”

This week, we honor those who’ve served and sacrificed for our freedom and reflect on the ultimate act of love Jesus spoke of:

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” – John 15:13

In this special Veterans Day episode, Pastor Eric shares how the courage of our soldiers mirrors the spiritual battle we all face and how faith calls us to live with that same bravery and selflessness.

Episode 20: “Gratitude Changes Your View”
Gratitude is like putting on a new pair of glasses, suddenly everything becomes clearer. I didn’t realize how blurry life looked until I got my new glasses this week, and it reminded me how a thankful heart can completely change our perspective.

“Give thanks in all circumstances.” 1 Thess. 5:18
When we choose gratitude, we start seeing God’s goodness that was there all along.
What’s one thing you’re grateful for today?

#LIVWord #LIVChurch #Gratitude #Perspective
Episode 21: “A Feast of Gratitude” (Thanksgiving Week Edition)

This Thanksgiving week, let’s pause and remember God’s goodness. Just like the feasts in the Old Testament, Thanksgiving is our moment to slow down, give thanks, and celebrate His faithfulness.
Happy Thanksgiving, LIV Church family!

Episode 22: “Working Together Builds Something Bigger”

Hosting Thanksgiving this year reminded me of a powerful truth:
When everyone brings their part, something bigger comes together.

From the turkey to the stuffing to every dish on the table, it took all of us. And that’s exactly how the Body of Christ works.
Each person, each gift, each act of service matters.
LIV Church will be built the same way together.

Episode 23: “Preparing For Christmas”

Picking a Christmas tree with my son reminded me of a deeper truth just as we prepare our homes for Christmas, God calls us to prepare our hearts for the Light of the world.
“The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.” John 1:9

#LIVWord #LIVChurch #ChristmasSeason #LightOfTheWorld #FamilyTraditions #ChristmasTreeMoments #JesusIsTheLight #AdventSeason

Episode 24: “What Are You Giving This Christmas?”

We love giving gifts at Christmas…
but are we sharing the greatest one?

Jesus is still the hope the world needs.
Don’t keep Him wrapped.

#LIVWord #Episode24 #ShareTheGospel #GreatestGift
Episode 25: “The Gift That Finds You”

Christmas isn’t joyful for everyone.
For some, it’s quiet. Heavy. Lonely.

That’s why the gift of Christmas matters so much.
Jesus didn’t come into a perfect world, He came into a dark one.
Not to stand at a distance, but to be with us.

If this season feels lonely, know this:
You are seen. You are loved. You are not alone.
Hope has a name… and His name is Jesus.

“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light.” (Isaiah 9:2)

Episode 26:  Leaving What’s Behind, Living What’s Ahead

As we step into a new year, many of us are carrying things we were never meant to bring with us. Regrets. Failures. Old labels. Yesterday’s victories or yesterday’s wounds.

Paul reminds us of a powerful truth:
We are not called to live looking backward.

Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal…” (Philippians 3:13–14)

Tonight, don’t just turn the calendar—turn your focus. God isn’t finished with your story. The past may explain you, but it does not define you.

#LIVWord #LIVChurch#LeavingWhatsBehind #LivingWhatsAhead #NewYearsEve #PressOn

Episode 27: “Time Well Spent

Time is the one thing we never get back.
As we step into a new year, let’s be intentional with how we spend it—on what truly matters, what lasts, and what honors God.

“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” — Psalm 90:12

Make this a year of time well spent.

#LIVWord #BibleTeaching #ChristIsKing #SanDiegoChurchPlant #HopeInJesus #LivChurchSD #LIVChurch
Episode 28: “God Will Restore”

God is in the restoration business. We were never offered an easy life only that God will bring everything together for good.
Our Storm can be used to strengthen us.
Let the Words of Scripture and the Promises of God bring Comfort today

#LivWord #Restoration #LivChurch

Episode 29: “The Light That Still Guides”

Matthew 5:14–16
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

The lighthouse at Point Loma was placed on high ground for a reason, visibility matters. And so does consistency. Ships didn’t need the lighthouse to chase them; they needed it to stand firm in the storm.

Stay anchored, Stay visible, Stay faithful.
God uses steady lights to guide wandering hearts home.

Episode 30: “The Climb Is Worth It”

Endurance isn’t about speed.
It’s about not quitting.
The climb is worth it.
