At LIV Church, we are grounded in the unchanging truth of God’s Word and fueled by a passion to see lives transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our beliefs are shaped by a high view of Scripture, a heart for evangelism, and a desire to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. We hold fast to the following essential beliefs:
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is our final rule for faith and practice, revealing God’s truth for every area of life (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).
God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each is fully God, co-equal and co-eternal, yet distinct in role (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1-2).
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, born of a virgin, fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitute for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, and will return one day to reign forever (John 1:14; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Revelation 19:11-16).
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world of sin, regenerates the heart of the believer, empowers us for godly living, and gifts us for service. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the continuing work of spiritual gifts (John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11).
Salvation
We believe that salvation is a free gift of God’s grace, received by faith alone in Jesus Christ. We are saved by grace—not by works—and fully forgiven through Christ’s sacrifice. Salvation brings about a transformed life and eternal security in Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-10; John 10:28-29).
The Church
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, made up of all true believers. We gather for worship, fellowship, discipleship, prayer, service, and the proclamation of the gospel. We practice the two ordinances given by Christ: baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper (Acts 2:42-47; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; Matthew 28:19).
Evangelism and Missions
We believe that every follower of Jesus is called to share the good news and make disciples locally and globally. The Great Commission is not just a task—it’s our passion (Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 10:14-15).
The Return of Christ
We believe in the blessed hope—the personal, visible return of Jesus Christ to establish His Kingdom. We look forward to a new heaven and new earth where righteousness dwells (Titus 2:13; Revelation 21:1-4).
Marriage and Family
We believe that God designed marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman. The family is the foundational institution of human society and a key context for discipleship (Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 5:22-33).
